Karen Eunson joined NHS Shetland in April 2026 as a Non-Executive Director. She is Vice Chair of the Integration Joint Board and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee. She is also a Trustee of the Endowment fund.
Karen moved back home to Shetland in 1994 after nine years’ studying and working in community education in Edinburgh. She worked for almost 20 years at Shetland College UHI, and then for 10 years in the Shetland Islands Citizens Advice Bureau. She now works part-time in Shetland Library and for Business Support Solutions (UK) Limited.
Karen has volunteered in governance roles in a range of local organisations for over 25 years. She is currently Vice Chair of Hjaltland Housing Association and a member of the board of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.
Karen is committed to the provision of a high-quality health service for the people of Shetland.
