CAMHS Sessions - FOI Response Register

1. In your health board, how many average sessions did CAMHS patients have, from their initial meeting until discharge, in these years?

Under FOISA s 12(1), NHS Shetland is not obliged to comply with a request if the estimated cost of doing so exceeds £600. Having reviewed your request, NHS Shetland has determined that the cost of compliance would exceed £600 and so is unable to provide the information requested; we have provided a breakdown of the estimated costs below:

500 records multiplied by 30 minutes to review each record equals 250 hours to provide the information.

NHS Shetland may be able to provide a response to a new, narrower request for which the cost of compliance would not exceed the cost threshold. Please let us know if you would like to submit such a request.

Please note that patients’ needs differ greatly – someone may be seen weekly for 6 sessions then discharged while another patient may be seen in the service seen monthly for 5 years. Everything depends on the condition and presentation of the patient – the average number of sessions gives a very limited picture.
