Locum Dental Officer Days - FOI Response Register

1. Can NHS Shetland state the number of days worked by locum dental officers (not consultants) from January 2018 to 28th December 2022?

Under FOISA s 12(1), NHS Shetland is not obliged to comply with a request if the estimated cost of doing so exceeds £600. Having reviewed your request, NHS Shetland has determined that the cost of compliance would exceed £600 and so is unable to provide the information requested; we have provided a breakdown of the estimated costs below:

This information is not held by NHS Shetland except as part of the original locum dental officer invoices, therefore to comply would require manual review of all relevant invoices over the requested 4 year period. There are 158 invoices in question and we estimate that this manual review and collation of data would take more than 40 hours to complete. This would therefore exceed the cost threshold of £600 (£15*40=£600).

NHS Shetland may be able to provide a response to a new, narrower request for which the cost of compliance would not exceed the cost threshold. Please let us know if you would like to submit such a request.
