HPV Assays - FOI Response Register

1. The details of HPV assay used by your NHS board in cervical screenings (the manufacturer and type);

2. Its sensitivity and specificity;

3. The proportion of void tests;

4. Its price;

5. If your board performs cervical cytology, the sensitivity, specificity and proportion of void tests for cervical cytology;

6. If your board performs laboratory tests, the annual capacity of the laboratory (how many tests the laboratory can process) for cervical cytology and for HPV tests.

7. If more than one HPV assay product is used across the NHS board, please list responses to requests 1-6 for all the products used and the locations where each of different assays is used.

There are only two Health Boards in Scotland who do HPV testing and cytology for the whole Cervical Screening Programme.

These are NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC).
