Request and Response

I am looking for information regarding Working Groups that have been established by your health board.

As such, can I request the following?:

The total number of working groups in your health board at present, April 2023?

Clarity was sought on the definition of a working group and was answered as:
"a committee or group appointed for their expertise (they can be made up of both internal staff and external reps) that studies/explores a particular problem or situation and then reports on what it has discovered and gives suggestions."

Corporate Services is not aware of any working groups established at present. An organisational meeting structure can be seen on our website at: https://www.nhsshetland.scot/downloads/file/254/governance-organogram. This shows a differentiation from governance meetings and operational meetings. These meetings are not working groups that meet the definition above as they exist on a continuing basis to handle business as usual operational and governance issues.

1. How many working groups have been established by your health in the last five financial years (2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23) with a breakdown of:

2. a) the name of each working group and its role/objective;

b) the total costs incurred in running these bodies, including expenses;

In accordance with FOISA s 17(1), NHS Shetland confirms that it does not hold the information requested.

Any area might determine to establish a short life working group. This information is not held centrally. There are no known expenses
