These questions have been answered using data collected as part of the Scottish Cancer Waiting Times and in line with the applicable definitions. The data is based for patients referred to NHS Shetland and the date used is date of first treatment and is for the calendar years 2018-2023 (2023 is up to 30/06/23). The number and waiting times for questions 2-4 relates to patients whose first treatment took place in NHS Shetland and were reported against the NHS Scotland 31 Day Cancer Waiting Times Standard from date of decision to treat to first treatment.

1. In this health board in each year since 2018/19, including the current year to date, how many patients have been diagnosed with cancer in this health board?

2. In relation to question 1, how many of the patients underwent chemotherapy? Please provide this data for each year since 2018/19. Including the current year to date.
