Reimbursement of energy costs for patients on home dialysis in NHS Shetland

I currently have the following information on reimbursement for home dialysis for your health board – can you confirm that this is correct?

Q1. How many people are on home dialysis in NHS Shetland? Total and breakdown by type of dialysis (HHD, APD, CAPD) – it is my understanding that there are no patients currently on home haemodialysis (HHD) in NHS Shetland is this correct?

I have no data for the number of patients on APD and CAPD

Q2.   Does NHS Shetland currently reimburse patients for the energy costs for home dialysis?

•     How often it is reviewed?

•     Is this a set amount or the maximum offered?

•     What is this calculation based on?

•     Is this regularly reviewed?

•     Does this amount take into consideration the energy costs for heating the room where dialysis takes place?

•     Process of reimbursement?

•    How much in the last financial year did NHS Shetland spend on reimbursing patients on home dialysis?
