Transport and reimbursement of transport for kidney patients to and from in-centre dialysis

1. Does your health board currently provide hospital transport for kidney patients to and from in- centre dialysis?

Yes

2. What form does the PTS take? – e.g. Ambulance, minibus, Taxi :

 Ambulance and Taxi

3. Does your Health Board reimburse those patients who drive to and from their in-centre dialysis?

 Yes if distance criteria met.

4. Does your Health Board reimburse patients who take public transport to and from their in-centre dialysis?

5. Does your Health Board reimburse patients who take a private taxi arranged by themselves to and from in-centre dialysis?

N/A

6. Does NHS Shetland’s have a transport policy for kidney patients for in-centre dialysis?

No

7. Can I confirm that all parking at hospitals and renal satellite units in your Health Board is free to patients?

 Yes

8. Do any of the hospitals in your health board have allocated parking spaces for renal patients on in-centre dialysis? If so what satellite units/ hospitals?
