Anti-Seizure Medication Levels - FOI Response Register

This is a request for information regarding

The ability of the health board to obtain ASM (anti-seizure medication) levels in women with
epilepsy in accordance with the National Maternity Network Standards of Care for Women
with Epilepsy of Childbearing Age: standards 1.7 and 2.8.

requesting the following information:

1. Does NHS Shetland currently have the ability to obtain trough levels of ASMs in women with
epilepsy during and prior to the perinatal period?

We send our samples to NHS Grampian.

2. If the answer to 1. is no, will NHS Shetland outsource this ability from other health boards in
the specific situations where the Standards of Care call for it?
