I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information on current and future contracts for Community Link Workers/Practitioners (CLWs):

  1. Which service providers procured are currently providing these services?

NHS Shetland directly provide these services through its Health Improvement team.

  1. How many Full Time Equivalent (FTE) CLW posts has each service provider been granted?

1 WTE Community Link Worker

Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) roles have 20% of their patient facing remit aligned to CLW functions.  This equates to 0.3WTE.

  1. When were these contracts granted; and when they will run until?

1 WTE Community Link Worker funded until 4th Dec 2023

HIP roles are permanent contracts.

  1. From which source(s) does funding for CLWs come from e.g. Primary Care Improvement Fund, Scottish Government discrete spending; and how much funding comes from each source?

NHS Shetland Primary Care Improvement fund

  1. If a new contract for CLWs is currently out to tender, how many FTE CLW posts is this for; and when will this new contract commence?

No further contracts planned

  1. If no new contract for CLWs is currently out to tender, when will a new tender be issued?
