In relation to referrals made to adult psychiatric services, please tell me:
- How many psychiatric referrals have been made for suspected ‘Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’ (ADHD) or ‘Attention-Deficit Disorder’ (ADD) within your health board in a) 2021, b) 2022, and c) 2023-to date
Please note, adult Psychiatric services only started accepting referrals in April 2021:
262 total – 2021 = 22, 2022 = 85. 2023 = 155
- Of the suspected ADHD and ADD referrals made in in a) 2021, b) 2022, and c) 2023-to date, how many were rejected before an appointment was made for psychiatric assessment
Adult Psychiatry accepts all referrals.
- Of the suspected ADHD and ADD referrals made in in a) 2021, b) 2022, and c) 2023-to date where a psychiatric assessment has been conducted, what i) number and ii) proportion resulted in a diagnosis of ADHD or ADD
2021 = 14 (63%), 2022 = 79 (92%), 2023 = 36 (85%)
- Of the total number of psychiatric referrals made in a) 2021, b) 2022, and c) 2023-to date, what proportion were for suspected ADHD or ADD
All referrals made are suspected ADHD/ADD, that is why they are referred.
