Within NHS Shetland the most common CGM is the Freestyle libre 2 sensors, previously known as Flash glucose monitoring. We also provide the Dexcom 1, Dexcom 6, Dexcom 7 and Guardian 4.

Type 2 patients who meet the NICE guidelines for access to technology are now being offered the Freestyle libre 2 sensor.
5.2% of the Type 2 adult population are now using a freestyle libre 2 which equates to a total of 34% of Type 2 patients who are using insulin are now monitoring there glucose levels using the Libre 2.
