NHS Shetland uses the ICD 10 coding system. Figures provided are for the number of inpatients who meet the specified criteria where the given ICD 10 code was listed as the main condition.

1. In the last 12 months, how many individual patients were treated for biliary tract cancer with the following Diagnosis Codes:

C22.1 Intrahepatic Bile Duct Carcinoma

C24 Malignant Neoplasm of unspecified biliary tract (If possible, could this please be further split to C24.0 Extrahepatic bile duct, C24.8 Overlapping lesion of Biliary Tract, C24.9 Biliary Tract, Unspecified).

3. In the last 12 months, how many patients were treated for Oesophagus Oesophagogastric Junction Cancer?  (C16.7)

Note – the ICD coding system used by NHS Shetland does not use code C16.7. Any patients treated for Oesophagus Oesophagogastric Junction Cancer were coded as C16.0 instead of C16.7.

Where we have given <5 answers, this is because NHS Shetland considers that providing more specific information carries a high risk of identifying individuals.
