Ambulance Waiting Times - FOI Response Register

1.    Waiting times in ambulances outside A&E departments for patients with Alzheimer's/dementia diagnosis following accident or injury.

2.    All protocols in place in all Scottish Hospitals to ensure waiting times in ambulances for patients with Alzheimer's/dementia are reduced.

We do not have any examples of where ambulances are stacking outside the ED at NHS Shetland, therefore we do not have escalation procedures for SAS turnaround times in place. The average SAS emergency turnaround time is 29 minutes. 

3.    Number of patients who do not have capacity due to Alzheimer's/dementia diagnosis trapped in ambulances having to be restrained whilst awaiting admission to hospital.
