Communications – Long Covid - FOI Response Register

Please provide copies of any email or WhatsApp correspondence to or from the medical director or equivalent of your health board or integrated care board - including any correspondence sent via their PAs or secretaries - since 1 April 2021, containing the following terms within the body of the email or any attachments:

Long Covid AND, any of the following:

Nice OR National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines ; GMC OR General medical council; Medicalise; Psychological; Functional; Psychosomatic; Fabricated OR FII

Names, contact details and other personal data have been redacted. In accordance with FOISA s 16(1), NHS Shetland confirms that it holds the information requested but that it is exempt from disclosure under FOISA s 38(1)(b) as read with s 38 (2A) as the information constitutes personal data and disclosure would breach the  confidentiality of the data subjects

Some of the information requested is subject to a restriction order from the UK Covid Inquiry. As such and in accordance with FOISA s 16(1), NHS Shetland confirms that it holds the information requested but that it is exempt from disclosure under FOISA s 26 (a) and (c) as such disclosure is prohibited by section 19 of the Inquiries Act 2005 and would constitute, or be punishable as, a contempt of court
