For the time period 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024 (or your nearest 12-month period), please provide the following:

1. Total number of violent incidents on your staff broken down by job title/category of worker

There were 17 incidents in the time period.

2. A breakdown of the nature of the violent incident e.g., verbal, physical, threatening behaviour

3. How many violent incidents have been reported under RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences) Regulations, with a breakdown by job title/category of worker

4. Please could you break this information down into incidents involving female staff / male staff?

The number of incidents involving male staff was <5, with the remaining number of incidents involving female staff. NHS Shetland considers that providing more specific information carries a high risk of identifying individuals. As such an in accordance with FOISA s 16(1), NHS Shetland confirms that it holds the information requested but that it is exempt from disclosure under FOISA s 38(1)(b) as read with s 38 (2A) as the information constitutes personal data and disclosure would breach the confidentiality of the data subjects.
