  1. Is a renal psychiatrist available to kidney patients throughout their renal journey – point of diagnosis, pre dialysis, during dialysis, pre and post-transplant - or is this support only available at certain designated points in time?

 This support will only be available at certain times in a patient’s journey and would be facilitated through NHS Grampian who provide renal services for Shetland and work with the Edinburgh Transplant Centre. Clinicians can request access to specialists through the extra contractual referral route (ECR) which are considered by the Medical Director on a case by case basis.

The CAMHS team or the CMHT, based in Breiwick House and Lerwick Health Centre, respectively.
