Request and Response
  1. How many children (between the ages of 3 and 17) are on the waiting list for an ADHD assessment (broken down by age, if possible)?

54

  1. How many adults are on the waiting list for an ADHD assessment?

There are 211 adults on the wait list for ADHD assessment.

Could I also ask, for the last five financial years, for a breakdown of:

  1. What the longest wait, in weeks, there has been for a child to receive an ADHD assessment?

Under FOISA s 12(1), NHS Shetland is not obliged to comply with a request if the estimated cost of doing so exceeds £600.  Having reviewed your request, NHS Shetland has determined that the cost of compliance would exceed £600 and so is unable to provide the information requested; we have provided a breakdown of the estimated costs below:

3844 files from Q3 identified.  That would be 30 minutes x 3844 records = 115,320minutes, or 1,922 hours x £15 per hour = £28,830. Additionally bank staff would have to be booked to catch up with the deficit in required work load, created by this request.

  1. What the longest wait, in weeks, there has been for an adult to receive an ADHD assessment?

110 weeks was the longest wait in weeks from date of referral to patient being assessed due to patient not attending offered appointments
