- Please can you provide me with a copy of the latest assessment held by your board of the potential ligature points in each of your hospital buildings?
Please see attached spreadsheet.
We have responded on the assumption that the question is about ligature point assessments in mental health hospitals.
NHS Shetland only has one hospital, the Gilbert Bain Hospital. It is a rural general hospital and does not have dedicated mental health wards. Patients requiring in patient mental health care are transferred to Royal Cornhill, NHS Grampian’s psychiatric hospital.
The attached assessment report is for our mental health ‘place of safety’ in Ward 3. This is where patients are cared for pending transfer to Royal Cornhill.
