1. Can you tell me what the board’s threshold is for venesection treatment for haemochromatosis?

Threshold for venesection treatment: ferritin >100 and Hb in the normal range.

2. What levels of serum ferritin and transferring saturation?

Ferritin >300 micrograms/L in men and >200 in women; transferrin saturation >/= 50% in men and 40% in women.

Our treatment targets are ferritin < 50 ug/l and transferrin saturation < 50%.
