- How many patients from the Shetland Islands were diagnosed with ADHD (please provide the data for adults and children). For the years 2024 (your most up to date results please), 2023, 2022, 2022, 2021.
We have interpreted your question to mean patients newly diagnosed with ADHD in the following years:
Adults:
2021: 6
2022: 55
2023: 65
2024: 93
Children: Under FOISA s 12(1), NHS Shetland is not obliged to comply with a request if the estimated cost of doing so exceeds £600. Having reviewed your request, NHS Shetland has determined that the cost of compliance would exceed £600 and so is unable to provide the information requested; we have provided a breakdown of the estimated costs below:
Due to the data recording system, to find this information would require every child who has been referred to Medical Paediatrics to see if they were given an ADHD diagnosis. That is in excess of 3500 records, to individually check each one would cost more that £600.
3500 x 5minutes = 291 hours x £15
