Expenditure on Consultancy (Unaudited Information) There were several consultancy firms engaged by NHS Shetland during 2023–24 in relation to the development of a business case for the replacement of the Gilbert Bain Hospital (GBH). These consultants were engaged indirectly through the Hub North Scotland, a strategic development partner for the public sector. GBH Project costs during 2023–24 totalled £0.452m and were fully funded by the Scottish Government. The project was paused in early 2024 due to the constrained budget position across Scotland.
