Access to Food in A and E - FOI Response Register

1. Can you provide me with your protocol or policy for ensuring patients are able to get access to food and meals when waiting in A&E waiting rooms, ambulances, or corridors due to lack of bed space?

A&E Staff would ensure nutrition of patients while waiting in A&E, from the servery or by providing sandwiches, yogurt, fluids out with servery opening times which are kept in A&E for patients

Thankfully, we do not have patients waiting in ambulances or corridors due to lack of bed space.

2. Can you provide me the allocated budget, over the last 6 calendar years, for patient food provision for patients waiting to be seen in A&E waiting rooms, ambulances, or corridors due to lack of bed space?

We provide sandwiches on a daily bases at a cost of £1965.60 per year
