Acute Surgery - FOI Response Register

1. For each month of 2024 and January 2025, the number of patients waiting more than seven days for acute surgery in your health board.

NHS Shetland does not have any patients who would be classified as an emergency who are waiting, or have waited more than 7 days for acute surgery. These patients are added to the next available CEPOD list which never exceeds 72 hours

For clarification, this should cover patients who - for example - attend at A&E with a broken ankle but are sent home to wait for a surgical slot. This should not include individuals who are referred to hospitals for elective procedures or for surgeries which appear in traditional waiting lists.
