NHS Shetland do not use this metric

4. Please outline the percentage of Theatre Utilisation in the health board by month, broken down from January 2024 to January 2025.

As NHS Shetland do not use theatre utilisation we do not collate that data. We do however have access to reports which collect start and end times of procedures, so we are able to respond with the number of minutes that the theatres have been occupied; we hope this will be a suitable proxy for your query. In the table below we are quoting the aggregate over all procedures of the left-operating-room time subtract the into-anaesthetic time quoted in minutes.

5. What are the Key Performance Indicator targets which the Health Board currently reviews performance against? E.g. Theatre Utilisation KPI target – 85% considered best practice.

NHS Shetland do not have such targets

6. What are your AM, PM and ALL Day Planned Session Start and End Times on your theatre templates?

Varies according to specialty and day of week, but typically AM 0900-1230, PM 1330-1600

7. Are your elective orthopaedic and trauma lists included in Theatre Utilisation metric?
