In accordance with FOISA s 17(1), NHS Shetland confirms that it does not hold the information requested.

NHS Shetland do not hold data for the last 10 years.  The Community Mental Health team began accepting referrals for ADHD diagnosis in 2021 and as such the data we hold can only cover the period from then

  1. I am requiring numbers specifically for adults over 18 who have requested to be referred for ADHD assessment.

2024 - 98

  1. I also require figures of how many of these people have had that request for diagnosis refused for any reason.

Diagnosis is not refused, it is based on assessment in collaboration with each individual patient.

  1. Also, how long have people been on the waiting list before they are offered a clinical appointment to begin the diagnosis process?

The waiting time varies case by case. The current average wait is around 16 months.

  1. How many of the people who have been assessed in adulthood are actually diagnosed with ADHD.

Community Mental Health has diagnosed 248 individuals since 2021

  1. Please confirm whether NHS Shetland is still receiving referrals for adults seeking an ADHD diagnosis or has the Waiting List been closed?

  1. How many adults are currently on the Waiting List for ADHD assessment?
