1. How many surgeons do you currently employ in your regional board that specifically operate on women suffering from endometriosis?

We do not employ Surgeons specifically for this purpose, we either send patients to mainland board or have a visiting surgeon from NHS Grampian

2. How many of these surgeons work 5 days a week for your regional board?

3. How many endometriosis surgeries have you performed annually over the past 5 years?

NHS Shetland uses the OPCS4 coding system. Figures provided are for the number of waits where OPCS4 Codes N80.1, N80.2, N80.9 were recorded.

Some surgeries of patients with endometriosis will not be included as these patients have been recorded as having irregular or excessive menstruation until a biopsy confirms that it is endometriosis.

4. What are your current estimated wait times for surgery to alleviate symptoms of endometriosis and how many women are currently on your wait list?
