- Who are the accommodations available to and who are they intended to serve?
They are available for local on call staff, Agency staff, Consultants, students, rotational staff and relocating staff if needed
- The Scotland Deanery website seems to suggest that the accommodations provided by hospitals are primarily for Foundation Year 1 doctors, is this true?
No, NHS Shetland would accommodate all students
- Are the accommodations also available to other healthcare providers? Nurses, FY2s, GPs?
Yes
- Is there a range of options for accommodations (accommodations for individuals, couples, or families)?
Yes we have mixed accommodation types
- What is the intended length of stay?
Anywhere from one night to a year plus depending on the requirement of the department
- Is the housing meant to be long term or short term?
It is only meant for short term, but that would depend on the individual fixed term contract.
- Is the housing meant to be permanent or transitional?
Transitional when relocating
- Are the doctors allowed to stay an indefinite length of time in the housing provided by the hospital or are they meant to find their own accommodations after a specified length of time, e.g., six months?
Ideally we would hope to have them transition after 6 months, but we would extend this if they haven’t sourced other accommodation.
