Flu vaccination campaign gets underway

The flu vaccination campaign is now underway, with appointments available from 22 September 2026.

If you are under 75 and eligible for a flu vaccine this winter, you should have received an email or text message inviting you to book an appointment. If the Vaccination Team does not have your mobile number or email address, you will have been sent a letter instead.

If you provide your mobile number or email address when you attend your appointment, the team will be able to contact you by text or email next time.

If you think you should have received an invitation but haven't, please check your junk or spam email folder. If you have not heard from us by Friday 11 September, please contact the Vaccination Team by emailing shet.vaccination-team@nhs.scot or calling 01595 743319.

Please note that Grantfield Vaccination Clinic will close at 5pm on Friday 4 September 2026 and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 22 September 2026 while improvement works are carried out at the site for the Walk-In Clinic.

During this period, vaccination appointments will continue at an alternative location. If you need a vaccination while Grantfield is closed, please contact the Vaccination Team for further information.

If you are registered with Hillswick, Yell, Unst or Whalsay practices, you will be contacted directly by your GP practice.

Flu vaccination appointments are available from 22 September and are already booking quickly. Please book your appointment as soon as possible.

From mid-October, clinics will be particularly busy as they will be delivering both Covid and flu vaccinations. If you do not book your flu appointment before then, you may have to wait until these clinics have finished before an appointment becomes available.
