NHS Shetland would like to say a big thank you once again to local charity Cancer Shetland following the recent donation of 15 special mattresses that are already making a big difference to our patients.
The mattresses are designed to reduce the likelihood of patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses from developing bedsores.
Cancer Shetland was set up over 25 years ago, and during that time, more than £100,000 has been donated to the Health Board to help care for those with cancer and other illnesses.
Kim Anderson, Chief Nurse (Community & Mental Health), Community Nursing, said of the recent donation: “The mattresses are already making such a big difference, and we are so grateful to the charity for its continued support over the years."
