We are committed to improving dental provision for everyone in Shetland. NHS Shetland and Lerwick Dental Practice recently met and have agreed on actions that support moving forward together.
Later this month, an independent practice inspection—requested by Lerwick Dental Practice—will take place. At this time, there are no plans to deregister additional NHS patients.
Following positive discussions with the Scottish Government, NHS Shetland has secured extra funding to employ a locum with emergency expertise. Urgent and non-routine cases continue to be NHS Shetland's dental service priority.
