The Emergency Department at the Gilbert Bain Hospital will be relocated in the Day Surgical Unit on a temporary basis to enable some essential electrical maintenance work to take place in the Department.
The Emergency Department is open 24/7 during this time and the usual urgent care services will be available. Patients are asked to report to Main Reception when they arrive and follow the signage to the Day Surgical Unit.
The temporary arrangements will be in place from 6pm on Thursday January 12th to Monday January 16th
2023.
In order to ensure that we can focus on people who have the greatest need and who are medical emergencies, we would ask people to contact NHS Inform or NHS24 for advice where possible. NHS24 can provide urgent care and mental health advice 24/7 and can be accessed by phoning 111.
A Primary Care Weekend Clinic for emergency access to a GP will also be available on
Sunday January 15th between 1pm and 5pm.
