It has been announced that Scottish Junior Doctors including, doctors in training, have voted through a robust process to strike on 12-15 July 2023.

Over recent weeks, we have been carefully planning how we will safely deliver care to those who need to access our services over the strike period.

Some of our clinic appointments and theatre procedures will need to be cancelled and we will be in contact with those affected as soon as possible. Any cancelled appointments will be rearranged, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. There may also be a knock effect meaning that appointments, clinics and theatre procedures taking place in the weeks after the planned strike period need to be rearranged so that we can rebook the cancelled appointments.

During this time, some care might take us a little longer and our staff are working hard to ensure everyone who needs our support receives this.

We ask for your patience whilst we continue to provide services to you during this time. If you need advice and it isn’t urgent, there is a wealth of information on the NHS Inform website including a “symptom check” section - Scottish health information you can trust | NHS inform

For a life-threatening emergency, please call 999. The Emergency Department continues to be there for everyone who needs it. If you arrive there and it is not the most appropriate place for you to be treated, you may be offered another service.

You can also get health advice from the NHS24 online App, by calling NHS24 111 or contacting your GP practice or local pharmacy.
