Scheduled industrial action by Junior Doctors has been suspended following a new pay offer from Scottish Government.
Following the announcement this afternoon that Junior Doctors have suspended industrial action in anticipation of a pay deal, NHS Shetland Chief Executive Brian Chittick said the Board was working to restore services as quickly as possible.
“Where we have been able to reinstate services, patients who have been affected by the proposed industrial action will be contacted by the hospital. We are doing everything possible to ensure as few people as possible are inconvenienced,” he said.
Mr Chittick said he was very grateful to the NHS Shetland team for their flexibility in accommodating the industrial action.
“We really would like to thank the community for their understanding during this time.”
