Restrictions will be in place in the Gilbert Bain Hospital car park from Sunday.

Due to the weather forecast from tomorrow, (Tuesday 20 February) onwards, and ferry cancellations at the weekend, the modular columns that will form the MRI building will not be installed this week.

Update 19/2/24

We are working with the contractors and crane company to re-programme the work.

Update 9/2/2024

Due to the cancellation of freight boat sailings today and tomorrow, the delivery of the modular units has been postponed until the end of next week.
The car park will now remain open as normal between 8pm this Sunday (11 February) and 8am Wednesday 14 February with the restrictions due to be reintroduced at 8pm on Sunday 18 February until 8am Wednesday 21 February to allow for the work to be safely completed. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.

----------------------------------------------------

The modular sections that will form the new MRI building are being delivered to the Gilbert Bain Hospital site on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 February.

These will then be lifted into position using a large crane over those two days (weather dependant).

In order to allow these works to be safely carried out, we are having to close the west end of the car park (as outlined in blue) from Sunday, 11 February until the lifting works are completed.

As the building modules are being delivered, there may be some minor delays to vehicles entering and exiting the car park and travelling down Cairnfield Road. Emergency access for ambulances will be maintained throughout.

SIC parking restrictions will also be in place on the southern end of Cairnfield Road to allow safe movement of trucks up and down the road and access to the site.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.
