NHS Shetland Bereavement booklet

Bereavement booklet

Following the death of a loved one in Shetland

A new booklet designed to help you through this difficult time is now available.

Firstly, we wish to express our sincere sympathy to you and your family at this time of sadness and loss. When someone close to you dies, you may be unsure what to do. We hope this booklet will help you through the first few days. You can view a PDF version of the booklet online or printed copies are available at the Gilbert Bain Hospital and at local health centres.

The death of someone close can be overwhelming and you may need help to do these things. Relatives, friends or neighbours can support you. Local faith ministers may be able to help, as will the Spiritual Care Lead Chaplain in Shetland NHS Health and Social Care, Neil Brice. Mr. Brice can be contacted on 01595 743662 or via the main hospital reception 01595 743000 or email shet.spiritualcare@nhs.scot
