Travelling to Shetland
A ferry leaves Aberdeen daily and travels overnight to Shetland:
Booking a cabin (sole occupancy or same sex shared) is advisable for privacy and access to your own en suite shower room and toilet. There are more affordable sleeping pods and access to public showers on board too. It is advisable to take some anti sea sickness pills as the crossing can sometimes be rough.
The Ferry Terminal is about a 15 minute walk from the Montfield accommodation or a short taxi ride. Cars can be booked on the ferry aswell. See map

Flights arrive into Sumburgh Airport which is 25 miles South of Lerwick. There are buses from Sumburgh to Lerwick (plus around the rest of Shetland) see timetables:
